I went to read the blogs of the SI finalists and as I read through the various blogs, I became ashamed of myself.
Of all the finalists' blogs i have read, I was most affected by Joakim's blog. ok, so he was the one i was commmenting about in my last post. He reminded what is it like to be on the other end of the criticism. He really is having a hard time though he puts a brave front that he can handle them. His latest post made me feel what a jerk I was to just comment on his singing and his unworthiness to be in the final 6. Here he is trying his utmost best to perform his best to entertain us and what do we do? We just slam him over n over again with negativity. If i were in his shoes I would just withdraw myself from the competition: basically just hide myself in a dark corner and not face our cruel world. Who are we to criticise when we or i should say I do not even have the guts to join or even be able to be on pitch? Who am I to frown upon him when he can still be himself despite being in front of the camera 24/7 and wif all the criticisms bombarded at him
It is surprising sometimes to find out what is ur source of growing up and change. An 18-yr-old guy has changed me in becoming a more understanding and stronger person. He has become my role model of coming face to face wif criticism and smiling upon it.
Pls dun be mistaken that i am his fan. I am not a fan, simply a person appreciating another person.
My motto now is just to watch the SI and appreciate all the talents that I was not blessed enough to have. :) I'm a believer!! (joakim's selected song for Rock nite. haha..)
